Funky Freddie Funky Freddie is an active and energetic Lion who just loves to be active and especially dance to Funky music! His Funky project is a new activity scheme aimed at engaging and motivating youngsters in addition to increasing the time that they spend participating in physical activities. Youngsters participate and learn a small number of Dance routines and have the opportunity to improve their co-ordination and timing through a series of fun multi-skill activities to ‘Funky’ dance music. Funky Freddie’s student friends from Leeds Trinity help him to engage and motivate youngsters. They know all the funky moves and will work in teams of three in a number of the Partnership Primary schools. Funky Freddie will provide pupils with a personal activity logbook and award stickers for pupils who demonstrate good commitment and effort. He will also award a special Funky T-Shirt to those youngsters who show the greatest commitment and increased levels of activity. At the end of the scheme, there will be a Funky Freddie Festival at Leeds Trinity University where schools get the opportunity to showcase just how Funky and Fit they are!
